Robin Weinrich, jewelry artisan

I am an award winning jewelry artisan creating wearable art that reflects the natural world around us and testifies to the joy of handmade work.  Each piece is designed, composed and created by my hands right down to every earring.  I search and collect unusual components, ethnic pieces, quality organic materials and vintage heirlooms that are woven into many of my pieces.

I also concentrate on the enamel arts primarily with the enamel bead.  Each one is unique and I design a variety of textures and colors that blend into wonderful color displays.

My work has also expanded into the metal clays.  I love using the  silver, bronze or copper metal clays as I form, texture, etch, sculpt or mold the clay into my own interpretations.  While sheet metals can be limiting in their array of workability, clay allows the artist to connect beyond the boundaries of material.  Once fired, each piece becomes solid metal.

The highlight of the season for 2011--this pink dogwood held up beautifully during my sculpting and painting process--firing went well, over 20 grams of fine silver . ..but then when I oxidized it to buff in the recesses, these beautiful golds, purples and maroons popped out--I didn't touch it and left all the oxidation on. WOW!
